Jardin de Friche is an attempt to “make-garden” in the realm of the mixed music score and in the sound space of a mixed piece for spacialized electronics in 8 channels.
For this piece I started from the analysis of recordings in wastelands. I focused particularly on the micro-temporal analysis of the songs of orthopterans.
To do this, I used the bioacoustic software Raven Pro to observe the frequency and time signatures of the insects. I extracted 3 patterns which were developed for the writing of the score.
It is on this basis that I worked on the notion of ostinato: how it is constructed and how it is destroyed with play on almost similarity and non-recurrence.
The electronic part is a hybridisation between recordings of wastelands treated in delayed time and in real time by means of a reinjection matrix that articulates the treatment of instruments and the treatment of samples.
The aim was to compose a rustling sound environment, rich in various morphologies, never quite the same, an
immersive garden, with no Vanishing point.
