Second iterration at La Générale, July 2nd 2026
What are the times of plants, and how can we compose with them? Troisième Nature sets up an improvisational situation in which the electrical fluctuations of plants, picked up by electrodes, are transformed into sound material in real time. The sonification system does not seek to give plants a voice; rather, it treats their signals as fragile traces of living activity: traces of plant agency and plant temporalities with which the instrumentalist attempts to build a sonic relationship. For the duration of an encounter, the aim is to bring together incommensurably different temporalities, to compose-with, and to test what plant time does to human music.
